If you have been following the Chinese smartphone market, then you probably know Gionee is gearing up to unleash a new flagship on the market, called the Elife E8.

The phone recently leaked in a gorgeous press render, revealing the phone might be build out of metal. Well today we bring you yet another official-looking picture of this premium device (as seen at Mobi Picker).

This time we’re given a look from behind, complete with the 23MP rear camera which allegedly will be able to take interpolated 100MP images.

The Elife E8 will probably use a similar setup to Oppo’s Find 7 smartphone that took advantage of advanced camera software which allows an interpolation that ultimately produced 51MP pictures.

We also know that the shooter on the Elife E8 should be able to offer OIS (optical image stabilization) and loseless zoom.

The feature is something we have seen on the Nokia Lumia 1020 and Sony Xperia Z1 and entails that when users zoom into a scene, there is a very small drop-off in the quality of the picture.
Gionee will probably launch the Elife E8 soon

Going back to today’s leak, the image showing the back of the phone also lets us take a look at the fingerprint scanner, the microphone, speaker grill and the two-tone LED flash.

As you can see, aesthetically the phone looks pretty sleek and the specs come to match the visuals. Apart from what we told you above, the phone is also rumored to arrive with a 4.6-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution and 639ppi (pixel per inch).

Gionee’s next flagship will be powered by a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6795 processor fitted with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (plus a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 128GB).

So if you hated the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S6 arrived sans the possibility of adding extra memory on board, you might want to wait for Gionee’s upcoming announcement.

The company also released a teaser for the phone which has the Statue of Liberty peering from the background. So it’s probably safe to assume, the Elife E8 will be coming to the US market.
