Lenovo's Z5 Pro GT was the first phone announced with Qualcomm’s latest 7nm Snapdragon 855 processor, and also the very first to flaunt 12 GB RAM. That's not all that the phone will achieve though, as it may actually be the first Snapdragon 855 phone with the whopping amount of RAM to be hit the shelves in a commercial release, coming January 29.

It will be launched in China at 10AM that very date with four memory configurations, and the top model that sports said 12 GB RAM as well as 512 GB storage is expected to cost $649 which may not sound like a lot in the US these days but is in fact towards the top end for a Chinese brand.

The rest of the specs are a nice blend of compromise to achieve the price point, such as a large 6.4" OLED display also fitting for a 2019 flagship but with 1080p FHD+ resolution. That's actually good as the 3350 mAh battery isn't very fitting for higher resolution screen.

There is a dual 24MP + 16MP camera on the back, as well as a 16MP + 8MP kit at the front, rounding up the Z5 Pro's photography chops. At the very least, we'll get to taste some Snapdragon 855 benchmarks from a commercially available phone when Lenovo's latest and greatest hits the tape in two weeks.
