Mozilla has just released a major update to its Android browser – Firefox. The new version comes with performance improvements and a handful of new features like the ability to Sync only over non-metered connections such as Wi-Fi.

Also, new full-screen bookmark management with folder support has been added, along with support for FLAC (free lossless audio codec) playback and the ability to change the status bar color in themes.

According to Mozilla, Firefox 58 should load pages faster due to the way it handles caches and JavaScript. Support for Progressive Web Apps is also included, which means you'll now be able to add a website as app on your phone's home screen. Only websites that support PWA (you'll see a house-shaped button in your address bar) can be added as apps.

The new update adds support for Bengali from Bangladesh and Nepali locales. Last but not least, the developers claim they have fixed a performance issue whereby some installations were initially slow to load pages.
