It's been more than 3 years since the PlayStation classic Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions made it to iOS.

Although there were rumors that the game might eventually arrive on Android platform as well, it looks like it took Square Enix a few years to make it happen.

There were plenty of Android users who were considering switching to an iPhone just to be able to play Final Fantasy Tactics, but they won't have to worry anymore starting today.

The game has just been released in Google Play Store with all the gameplay features and characters fans of the franchise know and love.

For those out of the loop, Final Fantasy Tactics was first released for the PlayStation in 1997 and sold over 2.4 million copies.

When game was re-released in 2007 as Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions for the PSP with added features such as new cut scenes, scenarios and jobs, it became even more popular.

Final Fantasy Tactics is an RPG with turn-based combat elements and features a deep story and memorable characters. The music in the game benefits from classic orchestrations from world-renowned composers Hitoshi Sakimoto and Masaharu Iwata.
Expect more than 80 hours of gameplay easily

There are no less than 22 jobs and over 400 abilities that players can choose from in order to customize their characters. Keep in mind though that the range of tactical options open to you in combat is truly astounding.

For the Android version, Square Enix promises smooth, intuitive touch-panel controls specifically tailored to the company's mobile RPGs.

For example, the old method of switching fixed map views has been replaced now with a simple gesture that will allow players to rotate, move and change the size of maps as they please by sliding and pinching. New and improved visuals have been implemented as well.

You can now download Final Fantasy Tactics for Android for $13.99 via Google Play Store. The game should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.0 and up
