Feedly, the application providing Android and iOS users with an easier way to keep track of RSS feeds, news and blog sites, YouTube channels and other online sources of information, has just received a major update on both mobile platforms.

Those who are already using Feedly on their Android devices will definitely notice the visual changes made by developers.

If those Android users happen to have Lollipop on their smartphones, then the new Feedly app will fit perfectly with the new visual design of the operating system.

We've just been informed by developers that the latest version of Feedly has been especially tweaked to fit the new Android 5.0 Lollipop visuals, namely Material Design UI.

Beginning version 24.0, Feedly has been optimized to work perfectly on Nexus 5 and 6 smartphones, as well as Nexus 7 and 9 tablets.

But there's more, as developers confirmed that the update also brings the tagging feature, which was one of the most requested features by Android users.

Another improvement over the previous version is the full integration with Facebook Messenger, since Facebook decided to split the social network app from the instant messaging app.

After releasing Feedly 24.0, the team delivered a few minor updates that fix and add some new features that haven't been included in the major update.

For example, the Feedly Team added Android 2.x support and fixed the hanging on splash screen. In addition, developers added the Nexus 6 card view in landscape mode. The cache size has been further optimized as well, and the ability to tag external links has been added as well.

Feedly for Android now features the ability to select remove clutter before the web page is fully loaded, along with the option to remove tags.
The iOS version has been optimized for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+

Devs also fixed the missing mark as read card and added the option to make remove clutter theme and font-size aware. Android users will also notice that they will be able to keep unread action as well.

The iOS version of Feedly has been updated as well with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+ support, so users can have a much smoother experience when using the application on these new smartphones.

You can now download Feedly for Android 24.4.0 for free via Google Play Store. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.3 and up. Make sure you have a stable Internet connection before attempting to use Feedly.
