Essential continues to bring improvements to its smartphone, which came later than expected to the market. Although it wasn't exactly love at first sight, the Essential Phone gained a dedicated community that's asking for improvements and new features.

Today, the US-based company announced a second Android Oreo beta build is available for Essential Phone units. If you want to install a beta software on your smartphone, then here are some of the most important new features and enhancements you'll be getting.

First off, Essential announced the update brings smart text selection ability, along with picture-in-picture. Also, many bug fixes have been implemented, as well as some under the hood performance enhancements.

According to Essential, the update is pushed out OTA (over the air) to all Essential Phone users who previously installed Android Oreo beta build 1. If you haven't done that yet, you'll have to follow a set of instructions that will allow you to update to Android Oreo beta. You can find more details at the source link below.

Essential promised an Android Oreo update will be released in the coming weeks but hasn't yet offered an ETA. With the second beta out, we believe the company is getting closer to a final version release.
