The larger edge-to-edge screen on the Apple Watch Series 4 allows Apple to cram as many as eight complications at one time on the watch face. The device, which will launch on September 21st running watchOS 5 out of the box, will also feature some new watch faces that take advantage of the expanded real estate on the timepiece.

For example, there are new faces that are based on some of the elements such as water, gas, fire and metal. There are also three variants of a new breathe face to choose from, and the Nike + Series 4 watch has a larger version of the Nike+ face. The watch face that leaked before the Apple Watch Series 4 was unveiled last Wednesday featured a new UV Index complication that lets you know whether to slather sun screen all over your exposed skin before heading outside.

As for older Apple Watch models running watchOS 5, it isn't clear how many of the new faces will be made available to them. After all, we are talking about a change in the design of the display. The faces that offer as many as eight complications for the Series 4 model are probably not going to fit on the older, smaller screens.
