The engineers at Jaguar Land Rover have recently developed a car that can be controlled by your typical smartphone. The purpose of this design implemented to the car is to improve vehicle safety, as it allows for easier parking and other possibilities, mainly tough spots. BBC’s Mark Cund was allowed to use such said device. Cund demonstrates how this gadget allows a driver to navigate their vehicle across difficult terrains. This is especially useful if your by yourself and you can’t have anyone outside to give you a heads up of potential dangers when drivers through trecherous areas. With this capability you can be your own spotter since with your phone you can control the steering wheel and the pedals for complete control of your vehicle as if it was an remote controlled car. The way the interaction between the smartphone and the vehicle is through an application that comes with the buttons that control the vehicle, it is simple to use and the car reacts almost instantly to how much pressure you put on the pedals. Jaguar hopes to continue to develop futuristic additions to their vehicles like this one.
