As we previously reported, BlackBerry is expected to launch two mid-range smartphones this year, priced at about $400. It was said that the two devices will be coming by the end of 2016. Now, we’ve gotten confirmation that BlackBerry is, in fact, working on the upcoming Blackberry Hamburg as the new smartphone was spotted on GFXBench recently.

The post on GFXBench has shed some light on the specs of the upcoming smartphone. Consequently, Blackberry Hamburg will be featuring a 5.2-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. The smartphone will sport a Snapdragon 615 chipset with octa-core 1.5GHz CPU, and the Adreno 405 GPU.
It should also come with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Rear camera capacity is set to reach 12MP and it will have an 8MP selfie snapper in the front. It’s also set to come with Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 out of the box.
Rumors surrounding this BlackBerry model have it that the phone will be an all-touch model, meaning that it won’t boast the iconic BlackBerry keyboard. However, that remains to be seen as there’s no official information to confirm that yet. Still, Hamburg’s design is set to resemble that of BlackBerry Z30, which was released back in 2013.

BlackBerry Hamburg should be released this year and carry a price of up to $400

In November last year, BlackBerry launched its first Android-powered smartphone, the Priv, but the smartphone didn’t really do as good as expected and now it appears that the company intends to test its luck in the mobile market by implementing the Android OS on its smartphones.

One of the reasons why the Priv failed to impress was its price, which also prompted to company to focus its attention on smartphones that fall in the mid-range category. BlackBerry is also expected to launch a Rome model this year, but information on this one is quite scarce.
We can expect the new BlackBerry Hamburg to hit the market this year, but until it does, new details on specs will surely emerge. The price for the new BlackBerry Hamburg model is expected to land between $300 and $400.
