Information about the Lenovo Z5 and its record-breaking screen-to-body ratio keeps appearing on Weibo. First it was just a corner, then it was a sketch, then it was another corner and now we have an official launch date of the device.

The phone is coming on June 5, as confirmed by Chang Cheng, Lenovo VP and former ZUK CEO. The event will take place in the Chinese capital Beijing at 2 PM.

In a separate post earlier today Cheng said the Z5 will be a follow-up of the ZUK series that included the Z1, the Z2 Pro, the Z2 and the Edge. The executive plays the nostalgia note with the poster, saying that the 24/7 dedication and fan support is the main reason Lenovo Z5 is arriving now.

Although specs are not yet confirmed, the launch at the Beijing Film Academy should reveal the massive charge of the battery cell that last week was teased to go 45 days on standby on a single charge. Cheng also teased the Lenovo Z5 will have “4 technological breakthroughs” and “18 patented technologies”, with some of them most likely to be in the UI department where the ZUK interface is expected to make a return.
