Apple has filed a new patent that aims to improve its mobile phone's personal assistant Siri.

According to Apple Insider, the patent concerns "a method for tagging or searching images using a voice-based digital assistant."

This could mean users will be able to tag photos as they capture them. It is thought this could add details to multiple photos at once, rather than having to go through and add information or location separately.

Users would then be able to ask Siri to find photos taken in a certain location and the personal assistant would find them from the images.

It would be able to recognise faces, buildings and landscapes and attach tags in photos in the smartphone's Camera Roll.

Apple files a number of patents every month, so it may not become a reality but the company has already started to collect certain images together in iOS7, so this next step would be too big a leap.
