Vivo Xplay 5 Ultimate Edition is the world’s first smartphone to pack 6GB RAM, but it won’t remain the only one, that’s for sure. An obscure Chinese company called Vernee plans to launch a handset that will include no less than 6GB RAM inside too.

The smartphone is called Apollo and is expected to arrive on the market sometime in April. The bad news is Vernee will only make it available in China, so it will be pretty hard to get it from another country.
There’s no word on price yet, but if you intend to purchase Vernee Apollo from a country other than China, you will most likely have to pay much more for the device.
As for the specs, Apollo is a monster on paper. According to Vernee, a new entrant in the smartphone business, the Apollo will be powered by a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor, coupled with no less than 128GB of internal memory.
There’s no mention of microSD card slot, but with that storage inside, we believe no one will miss that feature if Vernee does not plan to include it.
Sony camera sensor and Quad HD display On the back, the smartphone has been confirmed to boast a 21-megapixel photo snapper with Sony IMX230 sensor, LED flash and 4K video recording. There’s also a secondary 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front.
Furthermore, Vernee Apollo should boast a stunning 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. It should also feature ForceTouch technology.
Vernee has also announced that the Apollo will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box.
In the same piece of news, Vernee plans to launch a second Android smartphone, but this seems to belong to the mid-range rather than high-end range. It will be called Thor and should be revealed next month as well.
