After Motorola Moto E (1st Gen) received Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update in India, it looks like Google has decided to roll out the upgrade for all Android One smartphones in the country.

Keep in mind though that Google and its OEM partners have yet to confirm the rollout of the update for Android One smartphones, so take this information as a rumor for the moment.

According to a new report, Micromax Canvas A1, Spice Dream Uno and Karbonn Sparkle V are now receiving Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update in India.

The update is pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, which is why it might take some time until it reaches all devices across India.
The update is pretty small

We do know that the update is about 12MB in size, so the download should only take a few minutes if you're on cellular data, or several seconds if you're using Wi-Fi connection.

According to the official changelog, the update is meant to improve performance and stability. In addition, so bug fixes have been included as well.

Keep in mind that, after upgrading to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, your smartphone will restart itself. The next boot-up might take longer than expected, but that's because the OS optimizes the data on your phone.

Not many devices will receive Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update, since Google is expected to release Android M this fall.

However, some will receive Android 5.1 Lollipop updates, such as many Xperia smartphones, since Sony has recently confirmed that they will be upgraded to this version sometime in July.

Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge will get the update as well, along with some Motorola and HTC smartphones.

Anyway, if you own one of the Android One handsets mentioned earlier, let us know in the comments if you captured the update. Did you notice any other changes except those mentioned above?
